Profile

As Vice President of Preclinical Research and Development at Rakuten Medical, Amy leads the company’s research initiatives to advance new treatments in the pre-clinical phase based on Rakuten Medical’s proprietary Alluminox® platform. Since joining Rakuten Medical in 2019, she has played a pivotal role in translating pre-clinical discoveries into clinical development across the company’s global pipeline, including key assets ASP-1929, RM-1995, and RM-0256. She also leads the biomarker team, which supports clinical trial design and execution and leverages AI-driven technologies for data quantification and analysis. Prior to joining Rakuten Medical, Amy led the immuno-oncology research team at Inovio Pharmaceuticals, driving pre-clinical development of DNA-encoded cancer vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, and bispecific T cell engagers. Amy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the University of California, San Diego.
