Dr. Andreea Ioan-Facsinay, PhD

Andreea Ioan-Facsinay was born in Romania and received her PhD from Utrecht University. Her academic career was mostly spent in the Dept. of Rheumatology at Leiden University Medical Center. As a postdoc, her research focused on understanding T- and B cell responses directed against citrullinated antigens in RA. Later as a young PI, she initiated a new research line comprising a combination of basic and translational research aimed at investigating the inflammatory link between obesity and osteoarthritis. Since 2018, she works at Genmab, where she is currently leading the Immunology & Inflammation team.
