Profile
Florian Hollfelder was educated at the TU and Cambridge University. After a formative stay at Stanford (with Dan Herschlag) he joined Tony Kirby’s group at the Chemistry Department of Cambridge University for his PhD. During his PhD, in which he also collaborated with Dan Tawfik. His postdoctoral work was carried out at Harvard Medical School (with Christopher T. Walsh). In 2001 he returned to Cambridge to start his own research group an rose thorugh the ranks to become Professor of Chemical and Synthetic Biology. Florian held ERC Advanced and Starting Grants, served as Director of Studies, Tutor and Graduate Mentor at Trinity Hall, has coordinated 8 EU Marie Curie Doctoral Training Networks, an EU NEST and a BBSRC sLOLA project.
