Namir Khalasawi is a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan in the labs of Dr. Peter Tessier and Dr. Greg Thurber. His research focuses on engineering antibody-based therapeutics for immunomodulation in neuroinflammatory diseases and oncology. He develops bispecific antibodies for targeted delivery of therapeutic cargos—including cytokines, growth factors, and enzymes—to the central nervous system for the treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases. He also engineers agonist antibodies for cancer immunotherapy. Namir is an NIH F31 Predoctoral Fellow with industry experience in antibody discovery at OmniAb.
