Teresa Barata is Chief Scientific Officer at FairJourney Bio (FJBio), where she is responsible for defining and executing the company’s scientific strategy across its biologics platforms and innovation pipeline.
Teresa earned her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the UCL School of Pharmacy and remained in the UK after graduating, working on biotherapeutics across both academic and industrial environments.
Her research focused on protein characterisation, formulation, and product design and optimisation.
She is co-author of 16 peer-reviewed publications and co-inventor on one patent.
Teresa joined FJBio in 2020 as Head of the Biophysical Characterisation Unit, was appointed Head of the Protein Science Division in 2021, and has since been promoted to Chief Scientific Officer of FJBio.
