Profile

Ganesh E Phad is defending his PhD in Immunology in May 2018 at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. His research focuses on defining the quality of antigen-specific B cell responses at a high level of resolution to understand the evolution of neutralizing antibody responses produced by vaccines and/or natural infections. Together with colleagues, he developed a computational tool called IgDiscover for the construction of individualized antibody germline gene databases from subjects of outbred populations, which display considerable diversity in these genes. This allows accurate antibody gene assignment, expression profiling and antibody lineage tracing in a given subject. In addition, he is responsible for managing pre-clinical HIV-1 vaccine trials in non-human primates and for analyzing the data from these studies.
