Hanuman Mallubhotla has an M. Ch.E. from Villanova University and a Ph. D. from Rensselaer, both in USA. He won the graduate student award of the North American Membrane Society in 1994 and the Carl T. Humphrey Alumni Award from Villanova in 2006. After acquiring a Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering, he had worked at Millipore Corporation and Bristol-Myers Squibb in the USA, and at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Intas Biopharma in India. He contributed toward Phase III manufacturing of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s first biologic, developing the world’s first biosimilar antibody and India’s first EMA-approved biologic. Over 21 years, he had managed development of more than 30 biologic products. At Syngene, a contract research and manufacturing organization, he had developed processes for bacterial, yeast and mammalian cell derived molecules as well as live biotherapeutics. Several of these are in clinical trials in US, EU and other countries.
