Junichi Koga is currently the Executive Officer, Head of R&D Division since 2016.

Dr. Koga started his industry career at JCR pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. as a researcher, was appointed as a board member in 1998, and moved to Amgen Japan in 2001 to lead R&D as a board member before joining Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd.

In 2009, he joined Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd., in the Pharmaceutical Technology Division, establishing internal capability for biologics s a corporate fellow; he was later appointed as a corporate officer, and then moved to the R&D Division to lead the Biologics Function as head of the function in 2013.

He was trained to be an organic chemist at Kyoto University, and received his Ph.D. in microbiology from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.
