Marika Nestor, PhD

Marika Nestor leads a translational research group at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research group focuses on radionuclide targeting and radiosensitization of cancer cells. She obtained her PhD in 2006, and became an Associate Professor in 2012. In 2013 she was awarded the Göran Gustafsson prize for young scientists, and in 2016 she received the Junior Investigator Award from the Swedish Cancer Society. She holds research grants from e.g. the Swedish Research Council, the Swedish Cancer Society and The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. In 2017, she was awarded a grant from UU Innovation to facilitate clinical translation of her findings.
