Luiza Jedlina, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer of Aptahem AB (publ), a Swedish clinical-stage biotechnology company developing RNA aptamer therapeutics for acute, life-threatening conditions in which coagulation and inflammation are coupled. She holds a doctorate in parasitology and molecular immunology and a master's degree in toxicology, with 25 years in pharmacology and immunology spanning vaccine development, molecular cloning and diagnostic assay design. She is the named inventor behind Apta-1, Aptahem's lead drug candidate (European patent EP3691655B1), and has led the programme from discovery and preclinical development into first-in-human evaluation. Her work on Apta-1 has been published in the British Journal of Pharmacology (2025) and Cells (2024).
