Tomoko Takahashi, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Saitama University, Japan. Her research focuses on RNAi, microRNAs, and the molecular mechanisms by which small RNAs regulate gene expression and antiviral responses. She is also interested in applying RNA biology to the development of nucleic acid therapeutics, particularly small RNA-based approaches.
She received her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2014 and joined Saitama University in 2019, where she established her own research group. Her work has focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying RNAi activity and off-target effects, as well as the interplay between RNA silencing and innate antiviral responses. She is currently applying these findings to the development of safer and more effective nucleic acid therapeutics.
