Profile

Dr. Ning Lin is an energy economist with over 18 years of experience in the natural gas and LNG sectors. Her academic background in industrial organization and game theory complements her entrepreneurial approach to energy market analysis and development.

For the first decade of her career, Dr. Lin held leadership roles in commodity trading and business development at Shell Trading, Koch Industries, and Tenaska. Her expertise covers natural gas, LNG, power, petrochemical derivatives, intermediate chemicals, polymers, fibers, and engineering plastics. In 2017, Dr. Lin collaborated with Dr. Brooks at RBAC to develop G2M2®, a global gas market simulation model. This work has been instrumental in advancing market analysis capabilities within the industry. Currently, Dr. Lin is engaged in industry-focused research at the University of Texas at Austin, concentrating on emerging energy value chains such as hydrogen, ammonia, and CO₂. Her recent projects include hydrogen pipelines and geological storage solutions, as well as spearheading ammonia initiatives along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Her work aligns with the industry's emphasis on energy security, competitiveness, and sustainability, contributing to the integrated approach toward a decarbonized future.
