Cliff Dowton is a Banking IT professional who has spent his whole career in the Wholesale Banking / Investment Banking IT space, starting as a trainee application programmer with Royal Bank of Canada / Orion in 1984 and progressing to Business Analyst. In the late 1980s he gained an MBA from the City University Business School (now CASS).

From 1992 he worked over 10 years for a major Banking System vendor Internet Systems / mpct Solutions / Aleri as a Consultant, Implementation Manager and Head of Global Customer Support and Maintenance, gaining exposure to many top-tier Banks both in London and other Financial centres, and in both Head Office and Foreign Branch/Subsidiary environments.

Since late 2003 he has worked for SumiTrust and has held the Head of IT position based in London since 2007 leading a sizeable team. During that time he has pioneered the adoption of various new technologies / products as well as leading major in-house enhancements to the Global banking solutions.
