Professor Yılmaz is chair of the agricultural policy and extension division in the department of agricultural economics. He received his B.Sc. from the Department of Agricultural Economics, the University of Cukurova in Turkey. He obtained MSc and Ph.D. from Cukurova University in 1997 and 2003 years, respectively. He studied as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Ghent University in Belgium in 2015-2016. He has authored 89 refereed indexed journal articles. He has participated in many national and international meetings. He has many project experiences. His research activities focus on the EU agro-environmental policies and economy, analysis of farmers' knowledge level, attitudes, farmers adaptation, practices on pesticide use, the economics of pesticide use, farmers' biological control practices, agroecological farming systems and sustainable crop production. His scientific production on pesticide economy and management, and sustainable agriculture includes 36 indexed publications. Prof. Yılmaz serves as editor of scientific journals, and as a peer reviewer of scientific manuscripts and research project proposals. Also, Professor Yılmaz has experienced teaching mobility in different EU countries.
