Sara Monteiro has a Ph.D. degree in Agro-Industrial Engineering from Lisbon University (ISA). Before joining the industry, she was an Auxiliar Researcher at Lisbon University (ISA). Under her academic career she published several peer-reviewed scientific publications, supervised PhD students and she was a co-inventor of several patent families.

In 2006, she co-founded a private company, with the objective of developing new patented protein-based fungicides and she was the Technical director at the company.

In 2019, she decided to embrace a new position as the R&D Manager of OROAGRI EUROPE, SA. In 2021, OROAGRI was acquired by the ROVENSA Group. After a merge process of several companies from the ROVENSA group, ROVENSA NEXT was created and from 2022 to date she is the Head of Global R&D Biocontrol and Adjuvants at Rovensa Next.
