Ms Francesca Pasinelli (Board Member of Telethon Italy) With a degree in Pharmacy and a specialisation in Pharmacology, she worked as a researcher and then as a manager in multinational pharmaceutical companies. Since 2009 to 2024 she has directed Fondazione Telethon, a biomedical charity aimed at curing rare genetic diseases. There she has established a portfolio management system allowing to develop breakthrough therapies, also relying on effective technology transfer programmes. In 2023 she led the launch of a Telethon program for the production and distribution of advanced therapies within a nonprofit framework.

In 2007 Francesca Pasinelli was awarded the title of Commendatore al Merito della Repubblica, honour bestowed by the President of the Italian Republic. In 2008 she was awarded the Sonia Skarlatos Public Service Award by the American Society for Gene and Cell Therapy, in 2019 she was appointed the honour of Grande Ufficiale of the Italian Republic and in 2023 the Ambrogino D'Oro Award by the City of Milan.
