Thomas Ballotti is a pharmacy graduate from the Faculty of Pharmacy in Marseille, France, with dedicated training in industrialisation and regulation of health products (Msc).

Thomas joined EMA in 2023 as a scientific officer in the Small and Medium Enterprises office, a dedicated structure within EMA supporting SMEs developing medicines for human and/or veterinary use. The office addresses regulatory, administrative and procedural queries from SMEs and organises meetings to discuss their regulatory strategies. It also provides training and education to SMEs through communication material such as the SME newsletter and organises dedicated training on topics of interest.

Previously, Thomas worked in the pharmaceutical industry as regulatory affairs officer for several years, as lead for early access programs for innovative immune oncology drugs. He also worked on marketing authorisation applications and lifecycle management of drug products.
