Begoña is the Chief Business Development and Licensing Officer at Vectura Fertin Pharma since March 2023. Prior to this role, she spent the last 18 years at Novartis Pharma, her last post being Worldwide Head BD&L of the Opthalmology Franchise since 201 and prior to that she led the Pharma BD&L efforts across its respiratory, cardiovascular, metabolism, arthritis, bone and musculoskeletal diseases. She has proven track record in licensing deals, M&A as well as developing collaborations within cross functional, multi-cultural, matrix environments at global, regional and country levels. Before joining Novartis, she was the Head of External Pharmaceutical projects at Almirall (Barcelona, Spain). Begoña holds a PhD in Drug Delivery and a 3-year Postdoctoral Research fellowship at the Centre for Polymer Therapeutics (both at London School of Pharmacy, now part of UCL, UK) and a BSc in Biochemistry from Keele University (UK).
