Maria Teresa, a biophysicist by background, has extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, developed particularly during her time at Merck KGaA in the Fertility Global Portfolio Expansion Team and through her PhD in Medical Devices, completed in collaboration with Cochlear Ltd. She has an extensive network in the female health space and is also a lecturer for the FemTech course in the Cambridge Master in Bioscience Enterprise programme.

As the Global Portfolio Expansion Fertility Manager at Merck, she led business case development for new opportunities in the fertility and female health markets. This role involved co-developing clinical development, launch and brand plans for Merck’s fertility assets. Her experience at Merck provided her with deep insights into the market needs and challenges faced by pharmaceutical companies in clinical trials, particularly within female health. In 2021, Maria Teresa founded endogene.bio.
