Oliver Kast is currently Global Head of Business Development & Licensing, Oncology at Boehringer Ingelheim, based in Ingelheim, Germany. A pharmacist by training, he received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich (LMU) in 2003. He began his career in the generics industry before joining Boehringer Ingelheim in 2005 as an R&D Project Leader. In this role, he oversaw research and development activities for several drug development programs, including Pradaxa®, which later received FDA approval. A few years later, Oliver joined Boehringer Ingelheim's Oncology Therapeutic Area, where he served as International Project Leader for multiple clinical-stage oncology programs. Subsequently, he moved into Business Development and Licensing and was appointed Global Head of BD&L, Oncology in 2019. In this role, he leads global oncology partnering, licensing, and external innovation activities, supporting the continued growth of Boehringer Ingelheim's oncology pipeline.
