Biotech Week Boston
September 22-25, 2026
Boston, USA

What’s new at Biotech Week Boston 2026: The 10-Year Anniversary Edition

The drug development value chain does not exist in a vacuum. Biotech companies leverage academia to deliver breakthrough innovations and collaborate with biopharmaceutical businesses and investor partners to take new therapeutics to scale. Biopharmaceutical companies need biotech start-ups (both early- and late-stage) to maintain profitability. In turn, biopharma companies collaborate with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to accelerate and scale production and access niche scientific expertise. It is a biopharmaceutical ecosystem that requires collaboration to propel forward the life sciences industry.

Biotech Week Boston 2026 offers a unique experience where the most innovative scientific minds and business leaders across biotech, academia, investment, and service providers can come together to exchange strategies, ideas, and forge connections. With 5000+ attendees from 48 countries, Biotech Week Boston (BWB) is where C-suite and science converge to drive innovation and global collaboration.

What’s New in 2026 at BWB 2026?

  • Expanded selection of events, including Obesity Science and Innovation, RNA Leaders USA, and LSX USA
  • Two new tracks on Digital Biomanufacturing and CMC Strategy at BioProcess International
  • New workshop on AI and ML applicability in bioprocessing at BPI
  • Greater emphasis on case studies and interactive panel sessions

BWB unites communities from across bioprocessing and cell gene therapy to RNA, partnering, finance and accounting. To celebrate our ten-year anniversary this year, we have added a brand-new event: Obesity Science and Innovation, a premier conference that brings more than 150 experts in obesity and metabolic health to shape the future of emerging obesity therapeutics. The topics covered by thought leaders such as Zealand Pharma, Antag Therapeutics, Aphaia Pharma, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca and University College of London include:

  • Muscle Preservation Frontiers – a new track to explore emerging approaches to combat muscle-mass loss in obesity patients;
  • GLP-1s Beyond Obesity – another new track that looks at the use of GLP-1 based therapeutics for osteoarthritis, Alzheimer’s and women’s health;
  • Clinical insights on incretin-based therapies;
  • RNA-based approaches such as siRNA and non-coding RNA technologies;
  • and Adipose Targeted Therapies, including mitochondrial uncouplers and browning agents.

BioProcess International 2026 Returns with Expanded Content Tracks

BioProcess International – a conference focused on biomanufacturing strategies for monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, cell and gene therapies, and other advanced modalities – has also expanded to incorporate new tracks and new technical workshops.

The new Digital Biomanufacturing and Data-Driven Operations track aims to help MSAT, Manufacturing and Process leaders move from disconnected data and manual workflows to validated, scalable and ROI-proven digital operations that include proactive manufacturing control (thank you, PAT) and digital threads to prevent late-stage failures. Speakers include Veera Padmanabhan, Head of Manufacturing Sciences & Technology at AstraZeneca, Martin Kockx, Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and Michael Betenbaugh, Professor at the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engneering at Johns Hopkins University.

The other new track, CMC Strategy and Manufacturing Performance, empowers leaders to transform their CMC processes via data-driven tools and innovative manufacturing approaches such as intensified and continuous processing. You will have the chance to hear from Elisabeth Krug, Executive Director at Eli Lilly & Company, Jian Ren, Ph.D, Principal Scientist at AbbVie, and Tom Gervais, Vice President, Manufacturing at Macrogenics. You can find the full agenda for all five tracks at BioProcess International 2026 here and the speaker line up by tracks.

Two-for-one: Cell & Gene Therapy International at Biotech Week Boston 2026

For those focused on advanced modalities, BPI is also co-located with Cell & Gene Therapy International (CGTI), providing you with access to the main tracks of the two events with your BioProcess International pass. The Cell & Gene Therapy International conference is dedicated to advancing cell and gene therapy development, manufacturing, and commercialization through three tracks and various practical workshops:

  • Development of Emerging Cell and Gene Therapies – explores new approaches, including scaling up in vivo CAR-T therapies, optimising LNP, gene editing, and novel therapeutic modalities for broader populations;
  • Cell Therapy Manufacturing and Analytics – addresses the COGs crisis and scalability challenges for autologous and allogeneic cell therapies alongside case study insights for integrating end-to-end automation and AI.
  • Gene Therapy Manufacturing and Analytics – covers upstream and downstream innovations, tech transfer and scale up with CDMO best practices, and cost reduction with efficient quality control for rare and common diseases treatments.
  • Practical workshops this year include Potency Masterclass, Mastering CDMO Partnerships and External Tech Transfers for Cell & Gene Therapies.
