Guarding Against Fraudulent Outreach
Please be aware of a recent surge in fraudulent communications targeting the BPI community – scammers are actively contacting our attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and business partners claiming to represent BioProcess International, but refuse to communicate over email.
Suspicious contact patterns to watch out for: 1) individuals claiming BPI affiliation but stating they "cannot communicate via email", 2) demands for immediate phone callbacks without proper email verification, 3) requests for sensitive information during unsolicited calls, and 4) and pressure tactics requiring urgent responses or actions.
If You Receive Suspicious Contact:
- Do not engage with the caller immediately
- Ask for official email correspondence and company verification details. Always verify any BPI-related communications through official channels and request written confirmation via email before proceeding with any requests. Always avoid providing financial information, login credentials, or sensitive business data over the phone.
- Contact us directly using verified contact information to confirm legitimacy
- Report the incident to your internal security team
Legitimate BPI communications will always provide official email correspondence when requested and include proper company identification and contact details. BPI maintains the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and transparency when dealing with its business partners, and will never pressure you into an immediate phone-only discussion. If you have already been contacted by suspicious individuals claiming BPI affiliation, please report this immediately to BPI.
