Yuncan (Olivia) Zhu received a B.S. in Biochemistry from University of Washington and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. She attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, where her doctoral research included the development of novel non-chromatographic downstream processing options for mAbs, mRNA, and AAV. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at RPI where she is working to drive the cost-of-goods of mAb bulk drug substance below $10/g via optimization of a precipitation-based downstream process.
