Prof. Adam Brown, Ph.D.Professor of Biopharmaceutical Engineering at University of SheffieldSpeaker
Profile
Adam Brown is a Professor of Biopharmaceutical Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield. His lab is focussed on development of technologies that can be applied to improve the manufacture and performance of biopharmaceuticals. Specifically, he engineers new mammalian biological ‘components’ (e.g. nucleic acid constructs, cell and enzyme biocatalysts) that enhance the yield/quality of protein, mRNA, DNA, cell, and viral vector products. Developed technologies are translated into industry via both bioindustrial collaborations and direct commercialisation activities (SynGenSys, SilViA Bio).
