Ernest works as a downstream process expert at Novartis, TRD Mengeš, Slovenia, where he is responsible for the development of early-phase purification processes for biologics advancing into Phase I/II clinical production. During his doctoral studies at the University of Ljubljana, Ernest collaborated with Novartis to establish host cell protein (HCP) identification methods and contributed to downstream process development focused on eliminating critical HCPs, such as lipases — a topic partially addressed in his presentation.
