Kristin LutherVP of CMC & Analytical Development at AGS TherapeuticsSpeaker
Profile
Kristin Luther earned her PhD in Pharmacology from Loyola University Chicago and has worked extensively on therapeutic applications of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Over the past 10 years, she has worked with naive EVs from adult stem cells, engineered EVs for gene therapy applications, and currently EVs from microalgae. Her early research focused on cardiac conditions such as myocardial infarction and heart failure, and also how purification methods shape EV composition and bioactivity. As technology in the field developed, she joined Nanoview Biosciences, contributing to the development of a single-particle analysis platform, gaining insight into EV heterogeneity and its applications for biomarkers and diagnostics. In 2020, she became Head of Downstream Process and Analytical Development at Vesigen Therapeutics, advancing ARRDC1‑mediated microvesicles (ARMMs) as an engineered EV platform for gene delivery. Over the past year, she has consulted with start-ups developing EV‑based therapeutics and recently joined AGS Therapeutics as fractional VP of CMC and Analytical Development.
