Peter NeubauerChair for Bioprocess Engineering at Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin), GermanySpeaker
Profile
Peter Neubauer is Full Professor and Head of the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering at Technische Universität Berlin, Germany (since 2008), and currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Process Sciences. He obtained his PhD from the University of Greifswald and pursued postdoctoral research at KTH Stockholm and the University of Halle.
From 2001 to 2008 he was Professor of Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Oulu, Finland. His research focuses on bioprocess scale-up and scale-down strategies, process development for difficult-to-express proteins, and the realization of self-driving laboratories for intelligent bioprocess development.
He has pioneered concepts such as EnBase® and FastScan® and co-founded Enpresso, CELL-tainer, and BioNukleo. His group established the KIWI-biolab, integrating robotics, PAT, digitalization, and AI for autonomous bioprocess design. Author of over 450 publications, he received the Agilent Thought Leader Award (2023) and serves on several national and international advisory and evaluation boards.
