Amita Patkar is the Senior Vice President of Development at Infrastructure Ontario. Amita has been with IO for over 10 years and currently leads 3 Development verticals within the agency; 1. Landmark Projects which includes the Redevelopment of Ontario Place at Toronto’s Waterfront and key Transit Oriented Community (TOC) Projects, 2. Social Purpose Projects which are focussed on the delivery of much-needed long term care supply in Ontario, and 3. the Housing portfolio, which includes residential developments aimed at increasing the housing supply in accordance with Canada’s National Housing Strategy, inclusive of affordable housing and attainable housing. Prior to joining IO, Amita worked in management consulting within the private sector, primarily in the field of engineering. She joined the public sector in 2009 to support the establishment of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. Amita holds an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.
