Sha Sha holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology. She earned her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2018, completed postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2019 to 2021, and joined Ultragenyx in 2021. Her expertise lies in upstream process development for monoclonal antibodies and gene therapies, with a focus on process optimization, scale-up, mechanistic modeling, and systems biology. Sha is currently a Senior Scientist in the Upstream Process Development group, where she leads process development efforts based on producer cell lines for recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV).
