Dr. Evi Plomaritou is an Asst. Professor (in Chartering & Shipping Marketing) at the Department of Maritime Transport & Commerce of Frederick University (Cyprus), as well as a Faculty Member of the Shipping Department of Athens Metropolitan College. Since February 2011 she has been working as Shipping Consultant at Lloyd's Maritime Academy (UK). Having founded an innovative and original approach on chartering policies and marketing strategies of shipping companies, she is considered a shipping expert in this field (Chartering / Shipping Marketing). Evi has undertaken many projects in respect of planning the chartering policies and marketing strategies of shipping companies, as well as their in-company professional training worldwide (Greece, Cyprus, UK, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Abu Dhabi, Cape Town etc.).

Her teaching experience has been spread to the following institutions: Frederick University (Cyprus), European University - Business School (Switzerland), Middlesex University (UK), Danish Shipping Academy (Denmark), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), University of Piraeus (Greece), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), Metropolitan College (in collaboration with Southampton Solent University, UK), Business College of Athens (Greece), Mediterranean College (Greece).

From 2001 to 2008, she worked for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) providing consulting and training services to shipping professionals, while she was actively involved with the foundation of the ICS Greek Branch and the establishment of the relevant annual professional programme adopted. Moreover, she has 9-month research experience onboard bulk carriers.

Her wide research has been published in leading academic journals. In addition, her writing experience includes 5 books and 15 e-books. Among them, the most prominent one is the 8th edition of “Shipbroking and Chartering Practice”, a worldwide best-selling shipping book published by Informa Law from Routledge as part of their book series called “Lloyd's Practical Shipping Guides”. Another remarkable book of hers is titled “Marketing of Shipping Companies as a Tool for Improvement of Chartering Policy” which is recommended by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Evi was awarded with distinction her “PhD in Chartering Policy and Marketing Strategy of Shipping Companies” (University of Piraeus), while she also holds the “MSc in International Transport” (University of Cardiff, Wales), the “MPhil in Business Administration” (Capitol University College, USA), the “BSc with distinction in Maritime Business” (University of Piraeus), the “Advanced Diploma in Transport & Logistics” (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK) and the “Professional Diploma with distinction in Dry Cargo Chartering” (Cambridge Academy of Transport, UK).
