Sustainability has become a hot topic and focal point in the wealth and investment industry in recent years. However, it is now time for us all to start taking action and ‘walking the walk’ when it comes to sustainability.

Now is the time.

To ensure that we are ‘walking the walk’, IMpower Incorporating FundForum is committed to running an event that is both environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. That is why this year we committed ourselves to going further than ever before.

How we are building a sustainable event

Social responsibility

Our vision for IMpower (incorporating FundForum) is for it to be run in a socially responsible manner. To do so, we are focusing on:

  • Doing business safely and ethically
  • Considering wellbeing and accessibility
  • Creating a positive impact on our host cities and measuring our impacts
  • Supporting sponsors and partners in donating to local and industry-related charities

Environmental responsibility

This years and future events will be run in an increasingly environmentally responsible manner, focusing on:

  • Reducing carbon emissions
  • Creating less waste and discouraging giveaways from exhibitor stands and media partners
  • Considering sustainability credentials for every item sourced for the event

Sustainable development

Our aim is to promote long-term sustainable development - in the way that we run the event but also in how it's implemented in the market as a whole. We are committing to:

  • Using our content to support the sustainability of the investment management market
  • Developing close partnerships with charities, companies and associations and giving them a platform to promote their work in the field
  • Facilitating discussions on pertinent topics including diversity & inclusion, gender balance, sustainability trends, the impact on the environment

How are we going further in 2022?

Informa’s Faster to Zero

This initiative is Informa’s approach to sustainable business. Its aim is to become an ever more sustainable, positive impact business. Through the FasterForward programme, we are embedding sustainability into everything we do and seizing opportunities from helping our customers and markets do the same.

One pillar of the FasterForward programme is the Faster to Zero program. This initiative helps meet the urgent challenges of a changing world, this means taking accelerated steps to reduce our carbon and waste footprint with the aim of becoming a zero waste and net zero carbon business by 2030. The aims of this initiative include:

  • Become carbon neutral as a business and across our products by 2025
  • Halve the waste generated through our products and events by 2025
  • Become zero waste and net zero carbon by 2030 or earlier
