He began his career at sea, gaining crucial hands-on operational experience before transitioning to shore-based leadership. He holds postgraduate credentials in Shipping Operations, bridging practical seafaring knowledge with deep commercial and strategic expertise.

Throughout his career, Capt. Alegkakis has held international leadership roles, including serving as Owner’s Representative in Manila for a major Greek shipping firm.

Currently, he is the Chief Personnel Officer at ABC Maritime AG in Switzerland, where he directs crew management and personnel operations. He remains deeply committed to operational excellence, seafarer welfare, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the global shipping industry.
