Captain (Dr) Sartaj Gill
Senior Vice President at Mintra
Speaker

Profile

Captain (Dr) Sartaj Gill is an experienced maritime professional with over three decades of leadership across shipboard operations, training, and digital transformation. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Birmingham and has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his contributions to maritime education and safety.

Sartaj previously held senior roles in A.P. Moller-Maersk, Thome & V.Ships, where he led initiatives to strengthen competency frameworks, behavioural-safety leadership programmes for global fleets that address not only technical proficiency but also the cultural and human-factors dimensions of safety aboard ship.

At Mintra AS, he supports the groups efforts to leverage technology and pedagogy in creating respectful & inclusive learning and wellbeing solutions that empower safe, respectful, and inclusive workplaces at sea.

Beyond his maritime credentials, Sartaj is also a Louise Hay “Heal Your Life” Certified Workshop Leader and Coach — practices he thoughtfully integrates into his professional life to foster self-awareness, empathy, and emotional wellbeing in the workplace.

At Crew Connect Global, Sartaj brings a practitioner’s insight and strategic lens to the discussion on “My Harassment-Free Ship – What Does It Take?,” exploring how culture, leadership, and learning can truly move the needle toward psychological safety on board.
