Jostein Hole Kobbeltvedt is Executive Director of the Rafto Foundation for Human Rights and has more than twenty years of experience in human rights advocacy, democracy promotion, and international development.
Since 2016, he has led the foundation's work to support human rights defenders and advance democratic values through advocacy, education, and international partnerships. Before joining the Rafto Foundation, he held several leadership and policy positions with Norwegian Church Aid, including as Area Representative for Southern Africa.
Kobbeltvedt has worked closely with civil society organizations globally, with a particular focus on human rights, democratic governance, and international advocacy. Throughout his career, he has engaged extensively with governments, multilateral institutions, and the business sector on issues related to human rights, sustainable development, and responsible governance.
A frequent public speaker and commentator, Kobbeltvedt regularly contributes to public debate on human rights, democracy, and international affairs. He holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
