Tracey Lee Shearer is the Founder of EQ8 Recruit and the creator of EQ8 Puls8™, an independent Workforce Intelligence initiative helping specialist industries better understand workforce capability, talent mobility and future workforce needs.

With more than twenty years' experience recruiting across the global LNG, maritime and shipping sectors, Tracey has partnered with organisations worldwide to recruit specialist talent across LNG shipping, terminals, floating infrastructure, offshore operations and the wider energy value chain.

Throughout her career, Tracey became increasingly convinced that traditional recruitment alone could no longer solve the workforce challenges facing specialist industries. Recruitment databases capture where people have worked, but reveal very little about where they want to go, the skills they want to develop, or how workforce capability is evolving.

That belief led her to create EQ8 Puls8.

Rather than viewing recruitment as something that begins when a vacancy arises, Tracey believes organisations need a clearer understanding of their workforce long before hiring decisions are made. Through Workforce Intelligence, she is exploring how technology can strengthen human relationships, improve workforce planning and provide greater visibility into career aspirations, skills, mobility and future capability.

Today, Tracey is helping shape the conversation around Workforce Intelligence, Professional Nurture and the future of specialist recruitment. She is the creator of EQ8 Puls8 LNG, the first industry application of EQ8 Puls8™, focused on Workforce Intelligence for the global LNG industry, and EQ8 Puls8: Women in Maritime, a Workforce Intelligence application focused on improving understanding of women's career progression, mobility, skills, development and future capability across the maritime sector.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Tracey works with organisations and industry leaders across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, helping specialist industries move beyond reactive recruitment towards a more informed, connected and intelligence-led approach to workforce planning.
