Dr. Norton holds a Master's Degree in Maritime Law, and a Doctorate in Shipping Finance. He is currently a lecturer in constitutional law and bank regulation at Cardiff Business School. He previously worked in a Japanese finance house in London in the capital markets, specialising in swaps and new bond issues.
Dr. Norton has also worked for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers for over five years where he was a tutor in marine insurance. He also prepared the syllabus and wrote the course book for Shipping Finance for the Institute. For several years he was also the Appeals Officer at the Institute.
For the past few years Dr. Norton has lectured extensively as a guest lecturer in the West Indies in the fields of maritime law, ports policy, and shipping finance.
Dr. Norton is a trustee with a well-established London museum-art gallery, and takes an active role in London life. He is also a Friend of St. Paul’s Cathedral. He has published many academic articles in national and international journals in the fields of corporate governance and taxation. He has also supervised dozens of masters dissertations, and supervised a good number of students through to successful completion of their doctorates.
