Andy has been passionate about sports cards ever since he opened his first pack of Topps baseball cards in 1983. After years of not only collecting but studying cards and analyzing how they are made, he started grading sports cards professionally in 2000. Since then, Broome has graded millions of cards, including some of the most iconic cards in the hobby, such as the T206 Honus Wagner, T206 Doyl Nat’l and T206 Ty Cobb Back.
Vintage cards are Broome's area of expertise, with an emphasis on pre-World War II cards. In fact, he lent his expertise to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, when he helped create the "Shoebox Treasures" baseball card exhibit. Further, his abundance of sports card knowledge has helped in cataloguing new vintage card discoveries, consulting on TV shows like Pawn Stars and Antiques Roadshow, developing new technologies to improve the hobby and much more. Broome's ability to make a difference within the hobby he loves is what inspires him, as he leads CGC Cards' sports card division into a new age of collecting.
