Christian Munafo is a Portfolio Manager for Private Growth Equity at VanEck, having joined the firm in 2026. In this role, he is a key contributor to the firm’s private markets capabilities, leveraging deep relationships across the private innovation ecosystem and a strong track record of executing complex transactions for both institutional and individual investors. Prior to joining VanEck, he served as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager focused on private markets at Liberty Street Advisors, Inc., where he managed strategies including The Private Shares Fund and the GAM LSA Private Shares Fund. Earlier in his career, he was Co-Head of Global Secondaries at HQ Capital Private Equity and Head of Secondaries at Thomas Weisel Partners. Christian combines deep secondaries expertise with late-stage private growth experience, with a strong emphasis on expanding client access to compelling investment opportunities. He holds a BS from Rutgers University.
