Matthew “Matt” Lane serves as chief people officer in Savant’s Chicago Loop office, where he drives strategic initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, elevate employee engagement, and position the firm for long-term growth. He focuses on aligning culture with business strategy and guiding Savant through the complexities of scaling, integration, and talent development.
Matt brings a diverse background spanning management consulting, private equity, and leadership roles in middle‑market portfolio companies. Before joining Savant, he provided interim HR leadership to wealth management and SaaS organizations navigating reorganizations, leadership transitions, and mergers and acquisitions. He also served as the first chief people officer for Sales Benchmark Index, a private equity–backed go-to-market advisory firm.
Earlier in his career, Matt held senior roles at global consulting and advisory firms, where he led recruiting, performance management, acquisition integration, and leadership development programs. He also co‑founded two human capital consultancies dedicated to culture transformation and supporting high‑growth technology companies.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan. He has served on advisory and nonprofit boards in education, health care, and technology.
Beyond his work at Savant, Matt is a frequent traveler, sports enthusiast, and longtime baseball fan and coach. He closely follows University of Michigan football and basketball and enjoys spending time with his wife and two college‑age sons, one a pitcher at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, and the other a student at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He is also an avid pickleball player and occasional golfer.
