Mike Conover is the CEO and co-founder of Brightwave, a venture-backed startup building an AI assistant that creates tight, actionable investment research on any subject. A pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence, prior to Brightwave, Mike established and led Databricks' ($40B; pre-IPO) open source language model engineering efforts, and developed the first LLM to demonstrate any business can create LLM's that behave like ChatGPT. Mike has been building AI systems & products for more than fifteen years, including tours of duty at Workday as Director of Financials Machine Learning, SkipFlag (acquired by Workday), and LinkedIn. He has a Ph.D. in complexity science from Indiana University, and his work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Hacker News, MIT Technology Review and on NPR.
