Tarah Williams is a nearly 30-year industry veteran and has been a member of the Prospera family since 2007. Before being named President of the firm in the fall of 2022, Tarah served as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, a role she continues to hold. As President and Chief Operating Officer for Prospera, she brings strategy and vision to everything she does. Her ability to understand the big picture, coupled with a keen eye for detail, consistently allows her to focus on providing a gold-standard client experience in everything that she takes on. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions across multiple financial services business units, including operations, finance, risk management, recruiting, and marketing.

Prior to joining Prospera, Tarah began in the industry in an internship role as a technical analyst at Dain Bosworth. Upon moving to Richmond, Virginia, in 1995, she continued her career building a core foundation in Operations at Wheat First Securities and First Clearing. She held a variety of roles within First Clearing including Director of Finance, Risk Manager, and Chief Administrative Officer. In 2004, she was named President of FA Recruiting Services, LLC, and built and operated the entity until her departure in 2007, when she joined Prospera Financial Services.

Tarah has served on many conference panels, conducted numerous seminars in her fields of expertise, and authored several industry articles and white papers. Tarah graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s in consumer science with an emphasis in financial advising and later received a certificate from the Security Industry Institute’s esteemed three-year program at The Wharton School.
