Heather Thomson is the Vice President of Economy and Engagement at the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, where she focuses on fostering wealth and investment for the city. Previously, she served as Executive Director at the Alberta School of Business – Centre for Cities and Communities, mentoring business innovators and working closely with community leaders.
With a background in organizations like lululemon, ATB Financial, and McDonald's, Heather has extensive experience in business strategy, education, and industry outreach. She is passionate about building talent and advocating for business success. Notable achievements include being named Edify’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2023, securing $2 million in pandemic recovery funding, and helping create the University of Alberta’s Centre for Cities and Communities.
Heather is nearly finished her master's in behavioural economics, serves on several local economic development committees, and is a strong advocate for gender parity, especially for working parents. In her free time, she’s a proud mom, avid snowboarder, and passionate about fostering collaboration and compassion in business.
