Dan Williams is a dedicated public servant and the proud MLA for the Peace River riding. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 2019 and re-elected in 2023. Prior to his political career, he gained valuable experience in the sand and gravel industry, giving him a firsthand understanding of the industries and communities that drive Alberta's economy. Minister Williams previously served as Alberta's Minister of Mental Health and Addiction before being sworn in as Minister of Municipal Affairs on May 16, 2026. In this role, he brings a strong rural perspective to provincial governance, with a commitment to supporting thriving communities across Alberta, from small rural municipalities to the province's largest urban centers. Minister Williams is a devoted husband and father and resides in La Crête with his wife and son.
