An urbanist at heart, Ian is a passionate advocate for walkable, resilient neighbourhoods through a community first approach. A proud University of Alberta (’01 BA-Econ) alumni, he has worked for leading developers, consultants and led multiple non-profit industry advocacy organizations supporting business and community development initiatives. In 2013, he was recognized by Avenue Magazine as one Edmonton’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ for his commitment to urban design and community involvement.
When not in the office Ian has volunteered for groups such as the Downtown Edmonton Community League, Downtown Vibrancy Task Force and Winter City Edmonton; he has sat on the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board of Edmonton, the Edmonton Federation of Community League’s Planning Committee, Town of Canmore’s Economic Recovery Taskforce, the Banff Canmore Foundation and continues to advocate and partner on initiatives that support environmental stewardship and living local.
