Raka Josan is the President and CEO of Josan Properties, a diversified commercial real estate landlord and manager based in Edmonton. With properties in all CRE asset classes, Josan Properties has grown to an AUM of over $150 million and a roster of 127 people throughout the organization.

Raka grew up assisting with the maintenance of his father’s real estate properties, and after receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from the U of A, he joined the family business in 2001. He later returned to school, earning his MBA in 2006 from the U of C Haskayne School of Business. After working as a Financial Analyst with Brookfield Properties for two years he returned to Edmonton to rejoin the family business. In 2009, Raka’s father retired, and he took over as CEO. He expanded and diversified their assets and amalgamated the family’s various business interests under the Josan Properties flag. Under Raka’s leadership, the company has grown to work within all facets of commercial real estate, including development, retail, office, industrial, hotels, multifamily, and restaurants, with properties throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
