I advise companies on tax strategies that enhance fixed asset performance, improve capital efficiency, and unlock meaningful cash flow benefits. With an architectural background and more than thirty years in the construction industry, I bring deep technical expertise to the intersection of tax, engineering, and the built environment.
Throughout my career, I have led cost segregation and fixed asset analyses that have generated multimillion-dollar tax adjustments for major companies across diverse industries and property types. My experience includes complex, highly specialized assets such as high-tech data centers, casino and hotel resorts, theme parks, and other entertainment venues, as well as projects outside the U.S., including Guam, Ireland, Sweden, Macau, and China.
At Stout, I lead a team focused on engineering-based tax solutions for new construction, renovations, acquired assets, and large real estate portfolios. We help clients optimize depreciation, capitalization, and asset classification strategies through cost segregation, fixed asset capitalization, tangible property regulations, unit of property and building systems analysis, and construction costing and estimating.
My advisory approach emphasizes both strategy and timing. Fixed asset tax planning is not one-size-fits-all, and the most effective outcome often depends on when a particular strategy is enacted or implemented. I work with clients to evaluate the full context — including asset type, project stage, and broader tax objectives — so the timing of each strategy aligns with the opportunity to create the greatest value.
My focus is helping clients turn fixed assets into a more effective tax strategy lever, improving both near-term savings and long-term capital allocation.
