Julian Bowden worked for BP on downstream oil and international gas, mainly in planning, strategy, and business development roles. His career in BP included postings to company offices in Moscow and Brussels. On gas, he was heavily involved in marketing and transportation aspects of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project bringing gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. He is currently, inter alia, a senior visiting research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), for which he has also published reports on gas in the East Med. He has written on Azerbaijan and the SGC for Atlantic Council.
