Sai Tampi is Managing Director - Global Head of Funds, ETFs and Manager Selection at HSBC Global Private Banking & Wealth, based in London.

Sai joined the HSBC Private Bank in August 2017 as Global Head of Funds & ETFs. He took on additional responsibility for the funds product line in Wealth markets in 2021. He is now responsible for fund selection, the strategic partnership programme with asset managers, and oversight of distribution of Funds and ETFs across the Private Bank & Wealth Management, Premier and Personal client segments globally.

He has more than 20 years of experience across Business Development, Portfolio Management and Investment Banking. This includes time at Standard Life Investments, HSBC and Credit Suisse, where he has held various roles including Global Head of Business Development for Strategic Alliances, local Head of Portfolio Management, local Head & CIO for Multi Asset Class Solutions, and Head of Asset Management, in India.

Sai holds an MBA (with Distinction) from INSEAD, Fontainebleau; a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta; a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.

Sai has of late focused on enhancing his knowledge of sustainability, earning certifications including the CFA UK’s Sustainable Investing certification, a certificate in Sustainable Investment from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability leadership and a certification in Sustainability and Climate Risk, from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP-SCR).
