Joel Wattenbarger is a partner in the Asset Management Group at Ropes & Gray and co-head of the Private Fund Regulatory Practice. Joel is a leading expert on asset management regulatory issues, focusing in particular on the U.S. Investment Advisers Act. He has extensive experience advising private fund managers and other registered investment advisers on all aspects of regulatory compliance, including day-to-day compliance issues and trading questions, exam counselling, and advising on enforcement matters. Joel is also an experienced fund formation lawyer who has recently served as the lead partner on hedge fund, credit fund and private closed-end fund formations.
