Profile

From a competitive 100m sprinter in New Zealand to a global business leader, Sam's career has taken him from New York City to the Caribbean, London, and Dubai, where he has led teams of up to 150 across the Manufacturing, Hospitality, Media and Tech sectors.

Sam's passion for human and team performance is a personal interest and a field of expertise he has honed through rigorous academic study. His academic journey began with study in Sport Performance, which he pursued alongside his competitive sprinting. He then continued with Postgraduate study in Business Administration, Behaviour Change and further study in Team, Board, and Systemic Coaching at Henley Business School. This was followed by postgraduate research in Organisational Leadership and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy at the University of Oxford, solidifying his knowledge and understanding of leadership and team dynamics.

Sam is now completing further academic research in Performance Psychology and the dynamics of high-performing teams, with the University of Edinburgh.

Sam leads Braver Leaders, a team performance and leadership development agency. At Braver Leaders, the team works with CEOs of companies experiencing high growth to build a connected, aligned, and high-functioning leadership team with solid cultures and aid them in developing their leaders.

The Braver Leaders purpose is to help everyone experience the joy of being in a great team.
